Thats great! I hope that someday I have a job that I feel the same way about. If you don't feel like you are ready to retire, then don't. That doesn't mean that you can't take a vacation every now and again but retirement is not for everyone.

Nope, I would retire right now if I could afford to. My buying power has gone down over the last 6 years and now, with house values plummeting I couldn't even move into a cheaper house and live off the equity between the old and new for awhile.

Good for you but my life's desire is to retire when I am 50, and I am now 40. I don't think I can hold up mentally or physcially after 50. Also, I would like to live a little bit before I die.

Do you mean you have found a miracle potion that rejuvevates and you don't grow old and senile?
Many like you love their guilds yet they have to stop some day for natural cell aging and diseases came from it.
Or has God finally said a lie to man in that mankind lives up to 80 y.o. and remainder of that figure is boredom?

It's too late. I already did. But, when I was young, I thought as you do. Retirement is great for travel, spending time doing things you can't do when you are tied down. I owned and operated a golf course, but rarely got to play...too crowded or too much to do. Now, I can play anytime...nice!

I'm a liberal like Henry just chomping at the bit to have 75% of my hard earned money taken out of my pocket for every penny I earn.
Otherwise since the dollar is so low right now with da chimp as Pres., I'd retire.
LMAO@ the trapezoid (parallel? not)

I want to retire as soon a possible. That is why I am working hard, trying to make good investments and trying to hit the lotto.

I'm going to want to retire one day- actually I hope I don't live long enough to retire. I want to avoid the years when my body falls apart

Not me bud; the sooner the better. Good for you if you enjoy your work. More power to you.
Me, I've had more than enough. My job is what I'd call "tolerable." That doesn't mean I want to do it till I fall into my grave.
My wife and I have far too many other things to enjoy while we still have the health and stamina to do them.
