Yanks don't need experience, they need arms that work. Experience isn't everything - ask Beckett or Verlander

You're dead wrong about this - experience is EVERYTHING in the playoffs. All great teams lost before they won the big ones.

You have one of the best pitchers in the history of baseball, and you want to start Philip Hughes instead? That's asinine.

The reason managers go with experience is, they know what they're going to get with Clemens and Mussina. Nobody knows what Hughes is going to do in a big game.

What exactly has Verlander won that's mattered? He was 0-2 with a 5.73 ERA in the World Series last year.

You could be right. Joe has a tendency to leave his starters in too long and this could be fatal in a short series. It might be okay to start Clemens and Musina but I would have a super short leash on both. Sooner or later however, Torre is going to have to see what Hughes is made of.

It could be a mistake.Clemens is either lights out or struggling--Moose may have his good stuff waiting in playoffs.Either way,the Indians are real tough when they get rolling.Experience is very important in the playoffs--Verlander " threw "away our games in the Series last year.

In the playoffs I would take a proven vet over a rookie 95% of the time. Experience DOES matter, especially when the pressure is so enormous.

Doesn't matter. Cleveland's starting Westbrrok and he's been on fire since coming back.
