I have been on the pill for awhile now and my periods have been normal. Last month it was *VERY* light, so I took a pregnancy test and it came up negative, but I am having cramps now and am not supposed to start until next week sometime. I also recently started taking some steroids for my whiplash I got last week. I dont' know if that may be effecting it. Anyone had similar problems?

Light period with the pill can be normal.

More importantly, though, you got whiplash last week. You must have been in some kind of accident, and the pain you are experiencing could be coming from almost anything: from the steroids, from the accident, from something completely unrelated that is a coincidence right now, anything!

So if the pain is really bothersome, you need to call the doctor. It might be just constipation like another person said, and if so, the doc can figure that out by listening to your bowel sounds with a stethoscope. Then they can tell you how to fix that. But what if it is a sign of some kind of internal bleeding that got worse on account of starting the steroids?

Yes, I'm trying to give you a bit of a scare, because the order of trouble you describe means you really need to consult with the doc. I'm worried for you. Please call the doc, and then email me from my profile and let me know the follow up.

oh my God!! i'm having the exact same thing period like cramps, rightside, and lower back pain ... its really hard to tell weither u're pregnant, late period or just ovulation cramps after stopping the pills(for me) and now, ttc!!!! its ALSO very hard to just wait and see what will happen, but i guess its the only way to know... for me if it is still late, i'll go to take a blood test, especially after all the negative tests so far.. lots of baby dust :))

steroids can cause constipation, could be your lower abdominal cramping is your bowels trying to move. Try taking a dulcolax tab, increase your intake of water.
