It is very important especially on interview forms where there are so many people chasing the same job
Bad spelling would stand out so it would lessen someones chances

If you were the editor of a newspaper would you not want to spell good or have an eye for misspellings.

I feel extremely so but it is getting so no one seems to care anymore. Sometimes a misspelled word has a different meaning than what you intend. That alone should be reason enough to try and spell properly!
