Why do leaders like Al Sharpton devote their time to silly things like the Imus situation, and false accusations like the Duke lacrosse players, and not to things like education, morals, and discipline?

I firmly believe the Black Leaders only care about themselves, and just use the plight of their people as an excuse for gaining power. It is one of the main reasons the Black people live in worse hardship, they put their faith in terrible leadership.

Because they don't care about those things. All they care about is overly dramatizing something insignificant (like the Imus thing), suing people, and whining about things that happened centuries ago that nothing can be done about now. When you're so busy doing this, you don't have the time to be concerned about the important things.

I don't mean to sound malignant, but unfortunately that's the truth.

Some black leaders have begun to address the issues of fatherless children, crime & the lack of positive role models for black youngsters. However they face a lot of criticism for not blaming whites & the white culture for all the ills suffered by blacks in this country. People would rather blame someone else for their problems than examine what they are doing to harm themselves & their children.
I think Jackson & Sharpton have been elected "black leaders" by the media because they are always ready to blast whites & increase ratings. Face it, if we put a TV camera on the moon, Jackson & Sharpton would find a way to get in front of it.
