I had an overactive "Hyperthyroid" requiring radioactive Iodine to effectively kill a portion of my Thyroid gland. The treatment worked, I gained weight and my heart slowed down from 100 bpm.
Now I am Hypothyroid and require "Synthroid" synthetic thyroid supplements to stay alive. Thyroid problems run in my family.
