You usually answer phones and then help people troubleshoot the issues. It is important to be very hands-on familiar with the product itself. You should know how to install and use it. You should know how all the options work. You should know what workarounds exist.

You should also have the contacts inside the company to ask questions when something comes up that you cannot answer.

And you should have a thick skin, since many people will call you up when they are angry.

It is a nicer way of saying Help Desk. Basically helping people who have issues with their computers and doing manual things on the computers of computer illiterate individuals.
