Hello, im almost 20 years old. I have friends the same age as u. My first question is what type of brith control u use. Everyone is diffrent and they all have diffrent effects on everyone. Some of my friends use the shot. They have periods up to tweo months at a time and then stop for a long time. The shots i wouldnt use. Thats just me. My friends on the pills usually have 3 day periods. The other kinds im not sure about. My advise is go on the internet and look up the kinda brith control your using and it should tell u all u want to know about it and the side effects and all that.

This is totally normal. I went through the same thing when I started birth control, about 8 years ago. It's just your body adjusting to the hormonal changes. If you have a problem with it and just don't like the idea of bleeding that long and having your cycles messed up for a little bit, then talk to your doctor about switching methods.
Don't worry! If you stay on BC, your periods will eventually even out.

Nope - Your body is just adjusting to the new cycle. If it is still going after about 15 days and is still heavy, contact your doctor. Keep taking the pills as directed though, even if you start while you are still bleeding. It usually takes 3 months for the pills to completely regulate your cycle and for you to see what your normal period will be like.

You need to go back to the doctor. 9 days is too long. I had a period for 12 days and my pills were off. They have different brands of pills, some better than others for different people.

NOTHING IS WRONG. YOUR BODY HAS TO ADJUST TO THE PILLS. GIVE IT SOME TIME. YOU CAN HAVE BREAK THROUGH BLEEDING ALSO. AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS, IF IT KEEPS DOING THIS CALL THE DOCTOR AND LET HIM KNOW. THEY MY WANT TO TRY A DIFFERENT PILL. REMEMBER, EVEN IF YOU ARE BLEEDING YOU NEED TO START THE NEW PACK.

that's what happened to me to. i have my period for like 3 weeks. i went to see my doctor and she said that my body is trying to adjust to the pills. after a couple of cycles you should go back to ur normal cycle.
one thing that i hated about the pill....which caused me to stop taking them after 4 months...is that you get yeast infections. and they are painful. yuk
so dont worry. your fine. give it another couple of months...you'll adjust.

Your body is just adjusting to the hormones. It can take 3 cycles to fully adjust.
