The key is not to read the junk expelled in the press, if you don't like it don't buy it, at the end of the day they only publish what they think sells newspapers
The press treat lots of innocent people like scum. However that does not mean they should treat more people also like scum. Murat was very badly treated but the McCanns similarly have no concrete case against them, and are indeed a suffering party in this case, so why should we expect the press get on their backs just because they gave Murat a hard time? That is no way to even thing up.

Unfortunately Murat was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and has had his name dragged through the mud just because he lives alone with his mum, and near the apartment where Maddie was taken. Also was "seen" by Tanner outside the apartment in the street the night Maddie went missing. (I am highly suspicious of Tanners sighting)
But well, the famous McCanns are doctors, middle class, white, devout Catholic and have a PR man working for them apart from having Richard Branson and others on their side, so of course they MUST be innocent and Murat must have been a better suspect.
The McCanns story should not be allowed to be published any more, only if there is news on them being charged (or not) or that little Maddie is actually found one way or another......no more speculation, no more I think I saw her by people that never came forward months ago, no more what the PJ said, no more a close source said, no more Gerrys blog nothing, I'm sick of it all the hype.

I'm not sure that he was treated differently. The media have reported that he was made "arguido" and have done the same with the McCanns. They reported his denials and have done the same for the McCanns.
You might also want to consider this question. Why did the McCann bashers, when Murat was declared "arguido", assume that he was being framed but then, when it happened to the McCanns, the simple fact of it happening convinced you that they must be guilty (even though you were all saying Gerry did it and the PJ have, supposedly, said Kate did it)? Ask why YOU treated them differently before you wonder about the media's treatment. You have NO MORE information about Murat's innocence or guilt than you do about the McCanns.

People want jobs and to be safe from terrorist attacks they don't care who gets audited by the IRS. Few people have any sympathy for those who get political welfare and tax breaks while most of us are taxed to death in this country. Next year, we should all file a 501 C-4 form and claim we are a political organization which prevents the IRS from auditing us. It would be a perfect way to laundry money.

I have no idea why the McCanns are receiving special treatment. I expect Mr Murat bitterly regrets ever trying to help the McCanns - if that is the treatment you get for trying to help then is it any wonder that people just don't bother these days.
It says it all really that Mr Murat is no longer a suspect whilst the McCanns still are. Sadly, all the time wasted on Murat gave the McCanns a real opportunity to create their lies.

The McCanns have too many contacts in high places. This whole affair disgusts me. First we have the Mc Circus which travelled all over the world "looking for Maddy" but now the going gets tough the McCanns haven't a thought for Maddy because every waking hour is spent feeding rubbish to the press and pretending they are innocent and being framed by the PJ.Innocent people would never have acted the way these two have done.

Exactly. The press were quick to make accusations and call for a jail sentence because he was a suspect, and the police were doing a wonderful job. Now, however, because it is the McCanns, all the accusations against them that the media themselves were levelling at Robert Murat a few months ago are 'vile and cruel.' The British press jump on scapegoats, and for months, that was what Robert Murat was. He is the one who has been treated unfairly, and yet we don't see him hiring PR teams and top lawyers, while spending most of his time protesting his innocence. He kept his head down, and he knew all along that he was innocent. It's just a shame that the Press were so quick to jump on him and call him a 'suspicious character'. How do they think his daughter and family felt reading that, especially now he has been effectively cleared? The McCanns are still under suspicion, and yet they are treated like heroes? That is unfair and hypocritical.

Because I think that the British Media are low-life scum-feeders eager to whip up hatred against a lone suspect with no powerful friends or potential to be marketed as a "desirable image". Also, I think they recognised 2 of their own kind in the McCanns.

Interesting choice of name (Avatar) ! Do you get kicks from posting questions like this?

Hit a raw nerve then?
I ask sensible questions when I need to. Contriving hurtful questions and calling people scum displays a troubled character. I rest my case.
