Draw a vertical line from the top of the triangle to the bottom.
The side which is 4cm will be equal to 2cm.
Now,you'll have 2 triangles .Take one of them.
The vertical side is unknown so let it be x cm.
the 10cm side is the hypotenuse.
So, 10^2=2^2 + x^2.
100=4 + x^2
x^2 =100 - 4
x^2 = 96
x = Square-root of 96
^ means to the power.
Hope i've helped :)

The height will bisect the small side in half. So, we are left with two right angled triangles of 10cm, 2 cm and the height h.

2/10 = cos x

Find out x.

height / 10 = sin x

height = 10 sin x

Imagine that the shortest side is the base. Now cut the triangle into two down the middle. The length of the bottom is now 2cm. Using Pythagoras' theorem:

[sqrt](10^2 - 2^2)= [the vertical length aka height]
=[sqrt]96

Consider a = 10 b = 10 and c = 4
the formula is
height hc = sqrt[ a^2 - (c/2)^2]
like wise height of ha and hb is ha = hb = c*(hc/a)
Hope you can do the calculations
