3x + 3 = 2x + 2

3x = 2x - 1 (subtract 3 from both sides)

1x = -1 (subtract 2x from both sides)

x = -1 (remove 1 from x because it is unnecessary)

To check, plug -1 in for x and calculate:

3(-1) + 3 = 2(-1) + 2

-3 + 3 = -2 + 2

0 = 0
