I live in Broward Cty, Florida, which is the next county to the south of Palm Beach, and I prefer the second floor or higher, for security purposes. But that has nothing to do with the Fla location- I had the same idea when I lived on Long Island. Ground floor windows and especially sliding glass doors- which are rea.lly common in Fla, made for easy access to your apartment. I don't like uninvited guests! The only times a first floor apt is a + is when you are carrying packages, or if there's a fire.
