And I mean you went to the store and purchased the actual disc. Or you ordered the actual disc from an online vendor.

And what was the last album you downloaded?

Both of mine involve replacing stuff that was in my collection at one time:

CD: Thermadore's "Monkey on Rico". This was stolen from my car over 10 years ago. I couldn't find it anywhere (I believe it's out-of-print) so I ordered it when I finally found it on eBay.

Download: someone borrowed my copy of Smashing Pumpkins' "Siamese Dream" and misplaced it. Since only the disc was missing, and not the case and artwork, I downloaded it.

Just trying to get an idea of what everybody's buying habits are now.

RQ - I agree. The Pumpkins disc is the first and only full album I've downloaded.

lovnrckets - not only does he want me to buy another copy to replace that one, he thinks I should have one in the car, at work, and every room of my home. :)

BuzzKill - I can relate. I'm also replacing CD's now that were lost or stolen.

The last one I ordered to be mailed to me (amazon.com) was the Beatles Past Masters vol.2. I heard the song Rain when I was watching the Anthology DVDs and it was the only release I could find that had it. Very good collection actually.

The last thing I downloaded, which I haven't had a chance to listen to yet was the new Black Francis record. I actually buy most things from the iTunes store these days.

The last thing I actually went to the store and bought was a new copy of Circa Now by Rocket From the Crypt (replacement of the one I lost) and the Can record Delay. I don't go to actual record stores very often any more. It's one of those things that I like to be a treat for myself where I spend an hour or so flipping through stuff. Although I'm thinking about going away from digi purchases. I get too impulsive and it's just too easy. It doesn't feel like real money being spent.

Yeah, I like Rocket a lot. My wife and I just started doing the whole gym thing (moreso I just started, she is getting back into it) and I've been leaning on the first All Systems Go disk a lot to get through the workouts. They never really seemed to get the noteriaty they deserved. Very cool band. Nice dig at Corgan too. That's what I like to see, so true, so true.

Last 2 discs bought in the flesh were because of gigs: last one I think was the Aliens album on the way home at Field Day in London. All my orders have been pretty non-rock this year Ani Di Franco's Canon was the last (from Righteous Babe records direct)

Last original download : Ayano Tsuji's Kaze ni Naru from the cat returns soundtrack, can't get it on CD

Did similar to you about the Pumpkins' Siamese Dream!
I got it when ages since on import CD for some reason so had the art and when it started sticking just got the tracks I needed downloaded.

The new Siouxsie solo album, Mantaray. I pre-ordered it from the UK and got it on 9/12 - very impressed with Townsend Records for their fast overseas shipping. It's pretty solid - the song Drone Zone is kind of a dud (in my opinion) but I was happy with the rest of it. I've had Sea of Tranquility stuck in my head for the past few days. Dunno if it will win her new fans, but the old fans should like it.

I've also been replacing some albums - specifically ancient cassette tapes. If I already have it in another format, I tend to buy used via Amazon or Ebay.

Downloads: I occasionally download a song or two, but not a whole album. Call me old-fashioned, but I like holding the CD booklet in my hot little hands and reading lyrics.

I seem to recall going to Best Buy about a month ago. What did I buy?

1. Type O Negative - Dead Again
2. Lacuna Coil - Karmacode
3. Black Light Burns - Cruel Melody

Every so often, I'll hit up BMG. It ends up being a good deal so long as you only buy the minimum and quit immediately thereafter. I don't download albums but rather look for songs that I really like. Of course, if there's more than 2-3 songs that are good, I'll end up buying the CD eventually.

Sookie - Billy's head is so swollen he probably thinks you should go buy another copy.

Prof - I got a bunch of RFTC albums, great band.

BuzzKill - I totally know what you mean by having seller's remorse. Loads of mistakes have been made by me thanks to the allure of the used CD shop.

GK Dub - Thanks, bro.

Last weekend finally bought Show Your Bones by Yeah Yeah Yeahs (in store). As for the last album I downloaded...Cake's Motorcade of Generosity - this was a replacement of the one I sold 10 years ago. Sadly I sold a lot of great CD's that I have been working on replacing for the last 5 years.

Last week I bought the new Foo Fighters album, but I thought it was a little disappointing. I also had to re-buy the latest albums from Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative, Linkin Park, Chevelle, Static-X, and Sevendust because they were all stolen out of my car.

Lovnrckets you made 3 good choices.

My last online purchase was the album "1" by Irish musician Simple Kid (if you're not familiar with him, he has been described, somewhat inaccurately as the Irish Beck) for the bargain price of €5.99 last night.

Last download was "DeLoused In the Comatorium" by The Mars Volta, which I have yet to listen to, which was recommended to me by MachPen.

Last CD I bought in a shop was Radiohead's Amnesiac, which I was replacing. I only had it before on MiniDisc, and it recently got broken:(

Edit:
Also, I just ordered Radiohead's new album on their website about five minutes ago. Can't wait to hear it!
