I can tell ya the reasons can vary. One, it's always nice to be around attractive women, and you may just like the woman's company. Or you might be trying to see if there's a spark in hope of seducing her.

More often then not it's just because he feels they get along well and wants to get to know her better. It doesn't have to be anything devious.

Every guy is different... personally... if I was to consider her attractive (meaning both, mentally and physically)... I would probably be thinking about how I wished I wasn't married so I could have more than lunch with this woman.

As a single guy I would probably want to find out what her situation is at home in the love department.

That doesn't mean that all guys want all the complications, and hearthache that may come with a married woman.

I'm thinking do I order a burger or a club sandwich. I don't cheat though. Hard to say what any other man might be thinking. Since she's attractive I'd have fantasies about her but that does not mean I'd try to pursue anything.

I am a married woman...married over 30 years to a handsome, successful businessman. Our marriage is strong, so I have never, ever worried when he took a co-worker to lunch. I know that he's meeting with her over lunch and talking business. He comes home to me and tells me about his lunches and his other business things. Has anyone ever "hit" on him? Yes, indeed. But he tells me all about it and tells me he's flattered, but he knows who loves him most. He just retired, and now he's ALL mine.

No **** good. That's just stupidity gone to seed...unless of course someone is LOOKING to have an affair. I'd wager money...A LOT OF MONEY that most if not all affairs are preceded by a series of foolish little, seemingly innocuous decisions...just like this one.

Most likely nothing more than food and conversation, but one never knows. Has this person flirted with you before? Or is there sexual vibes being given off by either one of you?

I wouldn't go into it with any preconceived notions. Unless he's given you a reason to feel differently, but only you know that. But if there's nothing I'd say he just wants company to compliment his food.

That she picks up the tab. Going beyond that with a co-worker is fraught with peril. EVERYONE will find out.

Two rational adults of opposite sex can have a work based friendship. If one of the adults is thinking more to it, they shoudl excuse themselves and reexamine their relationship at home.
