As stupid and closed-minded. Lacking any real or relevant culture and not being able to contribute intelligibly to the world community.
I am an American. My culture is the culmination of many different peoples into a great quilt of cultures stitched together by the Constitution.
I am not closed minded. I must deal with many different concepts and theories and attempt to sift through them and find my own way.
It is well within my powers to speak and write intelligibly and to clearly present my ideas and or notions.

that's the eternal issue with stereotyping ... that a generalized point of view that features somewhat fact is then utilized too widely, as though universally and thoroughly genuine. there is likewise that tendency to be certain what confirms our prejudices and decrease fee info that contradict them. That the u . s . has been considered one of these effective united states of america on the international point especially situations makes it a magnet for greater severe and severe scrutiny than might ideally be the case. The passage of an prolonged time and centuries ameliorations many stuff with actuality, so the legacy is what's finally important interior the pages of background. especially situations the worst errors and surprising accomplishments are no longer understood till an prolonged time have surpassed.

I think that the most disturbing (and annoying, I suppose) stereotype is that we, as a nation, support Bush, and relatedly, we approve of the Administration's international policies. I had dinner with some Spanish friends (from Spain, not Latinos) last week, and I found myself receiving the business end of their hatred of our country. Lots of sentences started with terms like "You Americans think..." and "You Americans just don't..." It's tough being an American expat these days.
And these are people who have known me for years!!
BTW: I wanted to reply to another answerer's statement regarding the definition of a "neocon." Until the last 7-8 years, the standard party-line conservative doctrine incorporated isolationist tendencies. (Think Bush Sr, Nixon, (for the most part) Reagan...) This concept is now referred to as paleoconservative.
The Bush administration ushered in a new more aggressive international political policy. Since he is the President and a conservative, he, de facto, changed the definition of conservative. For purposes of academic conversation, it became necessary to distinguish between the old version of conservative and the new version of conservative. Thus, "neocon." I just had to correct that...

"Trailer Trash"- There are narrow minded, ignorant, bigoted people in mansions too, with better wardrobes and a better vocabulary to stab you in the back with.
When you come right down to it, percentages show that 'poor' people give more of a percentage of their income to charities and within their communities than many wealthier folks with money to burn. With housing prices beyond most of the 'working poor' (used to be the lower middle class)families' dreams, 'Manufactured homes' are the only viable alternative.
Not everyone who lives in a 'trailer' is trash-or a character on "My Name Is Earl"

That we are spoiled. We are kind of, but I feel like it paints a picture that because we have more than some do we don't care about anyone but ourselves. That could not be further from the truth.

I am fed up with (choose one, they're all alike; liberals, socialists, communists, Democrats, totalitarians) calling all who disagree with their socialist controlism, neocons. A neocon is one who has converted from liberalism. There are very few of them, but libs label all conservatives, neocon.
