“In Iraq, our troops are taking the fight to the extremists and radicals and murderers all throughout the country. Our troops have killed or captured an average of more than 1,500 al Qaeda terrorists and other extremists every month since January of this year."

~~America's Commander in Chief, George W. Bush

That's 1500 Islamo Nazi Terrorists that won't make the trip to fight us here. It's a Good thing we are fighting them there!

1500 terrorists a month?????????? you bought that without even spending a minute to research the topic.

Many experts, including the military, will tell you there are far less al qaeda than that in Iraq. Perhaps only a few thousand. However Bush loosely uses the term "other extremists" to make this statement. I wonder how many of those "other extremists" were innocent civilians as dead men can't talk.

My main problem with your point, which seems to have been missed by others who countered the first part, is your assertion that if we hadn't killed them there, they'd be hopping on planes to attack us here. The ones we're killing there are there because they want to get us out of Iraq. They're not terrorists who are out to destroy us wherever we are. The ones who will eventually hit us here are probably here (Or in Canada) already, or are in universities somewhere else, ready to travel over here. They're not to poor farmers or herders or whatever who are being recruited to fight against our occupation of Iraq.

The war in Iraq is apparently breeding a new type of terrorist.

Have you purposely skipped reading any article written by the CIA on this subject because it is not what you want to hear?

"The CIA report suggests the new breed of jihadists will be more deadly than those who fought in Afghanistan. It said that they have learned skills in urban warfare in Iraq."

Thanks George. Thanks for making the world a scarier place.

i like B enable them to shrink their numbers and components by using killing themselves of their civil warfare and in 5 years entice all terrorists to a sea coast social gathering in southern california with a promise of 40 virgins each and each... then objective all turbans...

1500 deaths times 52 months = 78000 dead terrorists. So who keeps on lighting up the car bombs. Hint it's not the Irish.

Like I said so many years ago, if you are going to fight terrorists, fight them where you can see them, in the flatlands of Iraq, not the mountians of Afghanistan.

AL Qaeda is not stupid, they know if they win Afghanistan, they still have nothing.

It is really a cool deal we have worked out. we have created terrorists so we can kill them. It is great. That way we don't have to wait for countries to descend into chaos and have terrorists take over. We can start the chaos and breeding ground for terrorists ourselves. And since we are already there, it makes it easy to kill them.

Are people who get killed IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY terrorists or the ones who kill others in their countries?

I have to ask, is there an actual number that is related with that "too many"? I don't think there is such a number.
