Look at his rookie year photos and him now. A man that old does'nt grow that much that fast. He should be in the Hall of Shame.

Allow me to use a parable to answer this question. In 1920 MLB implemented a rule banning the spitball. Any pitcher that continued to throw a spitball after the implementation of the rule was cheating and was kicked out of the game he was pitching, and many pitchers fell victim. My question is, "were all pitchers that threw a spitball prior to the rule change in 1920 also cheaters?" If your answer is no, than how could Bonds, or any other player, be guilty in the eyes of MLB for using any one of the banned substances before they found their way onto the banned substance list in 2002? It would also be like you getting a retroactive traffic ticket for running a stop sign that was just placed at an intersection, even though it wasn't there a month ago when you were driving down the road. I am against the use of drugs and in favor of the drug testing program just like everyone else. In fact, I believe MLB and the Players Union should enhance the testing to include a blood test, it is only a urine test now, so they can catch those using HGH and other drugs not detected through a urine test. You Bonds haters need come back to reality and understand the timing issues that are involved before you convict him in your own minds. NO ASTERISK!!

Barry Bonds admitted to taking steroids. His excuse was he didn't know what he was taking. He said his trainer gave it to him.. I find it hard to believe that Bonds, as controlling a person as he is didn't know what he was taking. I'm sure it will all come out that he did know after all. He was jealous of the attention other players were getting for breaking a record, so he did what he thought he needed to do to break the new record. Bonds needs to retire from baseball, so this controversy will end.

People believe he did and most likely it will come out that he took steroids. Until then give him the benefit of doubt. He sure has put up unbelievable numbers. Obviously, he is an extremely talented player. Others have taken steroids and haven't come close to his numbers. Yes, if he did, there should be an asterisk, Aaron was clean and it should be noted.

I think he did take steroids. I don't think his "accomplishment" deserves recognition. The athletes that set the records did so without the use of steroids. That would be like letting someone ride a motorcycle in the tour de france and recognizing their win.

lol
Every time I see him on TV I say, "Asteisk! As-ter-isk!!!"
just because I think it's funny.

I'm pretty sure that he was using steroids (duh), but how many others weren't as obvious about it and got away under the radar? How about the the old school guys who used cork and superballs? Or the Androstine scandal? We'd have to track all those guys down and give them asterisks, too!!
Since you brought it up, how come Pete Rose was banned and these other guys got off free and clear? The whole reason everybody was pissed at that guy was the suspicion of cheating, right? But they had PROOF that Bonds and these other losers were cheating (and using illegal drugs), and they're still allowed to chase the records of the greats?
No sir, it ain't right -
but with the exception of stricter drug screening, there's nothing we can do about it.

Of course he did. He admitted using steroids. He just said he didn't know what the were. You be the judge. Do believe he didn't know what they were?
