As I recall, there were massive protests in Baghdad AGAINST Bush's "liberation".

But now, in Burma, thousands of monks and ordinary citizens are be killed simply for having the courage to stand up for freedom.

And where is America?

The protests in Baghdad were before the war, as they were everywhere else in the world.

You recall incorrectly. There were no protests of American troops after Saddam's fall. Also people would have had to be crazy to stage massive protests in Iraq under Saddam. He was a ruthless killer and Iraqi citizens were well aware of that.......

If Saddam tells you to protest you best protest........

Well, invading Iraq has turned out to be a mistake.

But, don't confuse the error on American foreign policy with Hussein's regime being by any measure a ruthless one. He started a war with Iran. He invaded Kuwait. He had members of his own Congress put to death following his consolidating his own power: during a congressional meeting. He was seeking dominion over the middle east, but, his military was not strong enough to execute such a path.

Following Desert Storm, he was belligerent and unresponsive to the terms of peace, and, stood as a somewhat a justification for America invading.

Bush condemned the put down in Burma by the militarily controlled government last week at the U.N.

No there weren't. Because the same thing that is happening in burma now would have happened to them. Actually, you didn't even have to protest to get arrested and executed in Iraq under Saddam. You merely had to be suspected of not liking Saddam

Saddam would kill them if they protested against him. You didn't know this? You're a little behind the learning curve here huh? And the massive protest against us liberating them came from Saddam's folks cause they liked the way thing were. I recall tons of Iraq's welcoming us when we liberated Baghdad. You don't remember? Must have something to do with your learning abilities.

No, there were no protests against Saddam, and there were / are protests against the US. The thing is, Saddam would have killed those protesters, while we don't. Who is / was the bad guy here?

In case you haven't been watching, America is working on fixing Burma.

No there were no protests. Saddam didn't allow it. Question him and you and/or your family were jailed or murdered, in most cases, murdered.

Burma, thousands? Man how the numbers grow, and so fast.
Just like the millions of Iraqi's.

Listen, peacenik. Contrary to popular belief among the hippies, life isn't all love and peace. Sometimes there are disagreements and differences that can only be settled with violence. You can stand on your soap box and yell and scream and chant about peace all you want. But if you really want to get someones attention, you have to reach out and get it, and sometimes that only happens with violence.

Protests in Iraq against Saddam were dealt with in the same manner as protests in Germany against Hitler and protests in Russia against Stalin, so there were very few protests.

Iraq isn't America. Protesting Saddam got you dead.

Ask the Sunni people if being attacked with mustard gas, or living in fear every day because the Shiite hate them if they think that is terrorism, oh yea, i forget there is american terrorism and the rest of the world! We think flying planes into a building or shooting up schools is terrorism, were as the people of Africa, Nepal, China, and Somolia may completely disagree!

No, there was however government arranged protest of the USA.

These days they don't dare to protest anything because it is a good way to get yourself killed by a suicide bomber.
