I have a dr appointment at 2:30...I am just curious as to what this might be. It does not hurt. Just when I swallow I can feel it. The lump looks like a zit full of puss. Yesturday I noticed it but it wasnt that big.. so I came home and brushed my teeth and garelled with listereen. I got in the shower this morning and noticed it was bigger then yesturday so I made a dr appointment. Could this be a cold sore?

Peritonsillar Abcess-

A Peritonsillar abcess is filled with pus, continues to get larger and eventually can cause difficulty in swallowing and even respiration, also fever and systemic illness.

The treatment is to drain it and treat with antibiotics.

Going to the Dr is necessary, but it can easily be treated and cured.

Sounds like an abcess. It is treatable with antibiotics.
