I was on Depo shot for years then switched to ortho tricyclen lo for about 1 year. Got off all forms of birth control last July 06. My periods have been very irregular since then, have suspected Pcos which means that I don't ovulate regularly. Went once for over 60 days without period one time and thought I was pregnant but all tests came out negative. Now I havent' had my period since July 2 07. I figured it was this time it was probably going to be the same scenario and along about last Friday my breast began feeling heavy and tender. This was not unusually as my breasts get tender a couple of days before my period begins normally. Saturday I decided to take an equate pregnancy test and it came up a very faint positive. The positive line was definitely pink but was thin and off center. I thought that maybe the test was defective so I took another one the next morning and received the same result. Both tests came out of the same box. Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks All. I would be happy with the idea. Because the line was off center and very thin. This is why I question whether it was a true positive or not...

If the test was defective the control line would not have shown up. Usually a line is a line and it means you are preggers BUT sometimes women have the hormone hCG and is detectable in their system for an odd reason, that reason not being pregnancy. This could be a possibility considering you are so irregular and think you may have PCOS. You should really have that checked to see if you have it or if you can rule it out. Take another test first thing in the morning with your first urine and see if the line is darker.

Defective Pregnancy Test

yes, this has happened to me, and both times it was truly a negative result...the tests that i took explained that the positive line would be in the same spot and the same thickness, but could be slightly lighter or darker. what i do now is by the digital tests that actually say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" so i can take the guess work out of it...the digital tests will also tell you if the test is defective or not performed properly. they are a little more expensive, but totally worth the peace of mind. best of luck!!!

hey hun, From what you have said. IT sounds like a positive Pregnancy test ;) Faint line also means its postive. No line means negative. I would take another pregnancy test to be sure. The more days missed the more darker it will be.. God Bless xx Best wishes xx

There is more False Negative test then there is Positive. I would say spend a little more money and but a Digital First Response its abotu $15 for two. And try it out if you get positive then go straight to a doc and confirm the tests and start getting on prenatal vitamins. CONGRADULATIONS! Baby Dust to you!

CONGRATS MOMMY!

You are definitely pregnant.

Call the 1-800 number on the box to be sure, but I'm like 199% sure you're pregnant!

call your doctor and get a blood test. Or bo to the store and buy 2 different kinds, different brands of HPT and do them again. If you are pregnant, the time of day won't really matter.

They say a line is a line! But go get a digital to put your mind at ease.

I'd say congratulations are in order! :)
