There were many milestones, stand out games, big plays and momentum shifters this year. What single moment was you favorite or stood out the most to you? I don't want to hear any bashing here, you will be reported for being lame.

The idea is to get people to talk about baseball from a fan of the sport not one specific team.

Clumsy me, I forgot to write my moment.

It would have to be the fact that all these players reached huge homerun totals. Arod, Thomas, Thome all reaching the 500 mark. Griffey nearing 600 all legitimately. Biggio reaching 3,000 hits and closing a fantastic career.

Growing up I only heard about players reaching huge marks like this, and to see so many players do it now gives a sense of what really is going on as far as baseball history is concerned.

As a side note: Had the Mets won yesterday it would have been incredible to have 3 one game playoffs before the NL playoffs were even set. If that had happened it would have been the best moment arguably ever in MLB.

I think when the Rangers scored 30 runs in a single game something that had not been done since 1900. The Rangers did something that had not been done in 107 years is pretty amazing
Curtis Granderson joining tthe 20-20-20-20 club is something pretty special also

The Barry Bonds home run chase will go down as the story of 2007, I think most would agree.

The biggest surprises had to be the Mariners, Rockies, and Diamondbacks, and for a little while, the Brewers. The biggest surprise players had to be Carlos Pena with the Rays. Disappointments included the White Sox, Twins, Cardinals, Athletics, and even the Marlins.

The top pitching moments were the no-hitters of Buehrle, Verlander, and Buchholz, and Scott Baker's flirt with perfection in August. Jenks' out streak and Webb's scoreless inning streak were also up there.

Offensively, the 30 runs in one game by Texas against Baltimore still doesn't seem real to me. Nothing else even comes close.

My awards would go to...
AL MVP - Alex Rodriguez
NL MVP - Matt Holliday
AL CY - CC Sabathia
NL CY - Jake Peavey
AL ROY - Brian Bannister
NL ROY - Ryan Braun
AL MGR - Eric Wedge
NL MGR - Bob Melvin

As mentioned the 30 run rangers beat down of the O's was somehting to see. I was at the game (Live in Baltimore) and it was the first game of a double header. With the.... not such a good season going there were only about 3000 people in the stands when the game started, little did we know what we were about to see.

I also thought one of the most exciting things I saw all year was watching the Boston game on TV when they get 4hr in a row!

And, originally being form Chicago (North Side) I can't tell you how many great (and bad) moments I went through this year with the Cubs! MY god they kept me interested all year for a change :)

I like your last comment Steve.

I think the major thing for me is the final days of the NL.
So many possibilities, that amazing run of Colorado's.

The AL was more of a mid-late season drama with Detroit and Seattle falling away and the tremendous resurgence of the Yankees.

The other thing that stands out (because I am a stats nut) is the # of players with power and speed.
Rollins, Wright, Phillips all going 30/30.

Imagine those 3 being 3/4 of your infield.

Forgot to add, the season of Carlos Pena. Not even meant to be a starter for the Devil Rays and knocks out 46 homers and 121 RBI's

i believe your question is calling approximately foot speed and not the superb at stealing bases, that are 2 thoroughly distinctive understand-how. My 5 so as could be: a million- Carlos Gomez 2- Michael Bourn 3- Ben Revere 4- Jacoby Ellsbury 5- Rajai Davis No participant interior the sport can journey the linked fee of Carlos Gomez who has been clocked interior the 40 backyard sprint at 4.2 seconds. Jose Reyes and Jimmy Rollins have reported that Gomez is the quickest runner in MLB, and who am I to doubt them.

I'd have to say Myers throwing his glove after the last pitch for the Phils. This team has been in the shadows of the Mets and Braves for over a decade. Seeing them do it on the very last game was pretty cool. As far as the big milestone goes...Britney Spear's comeback impacted me more than the passing of Aaron's mark.

To Me.

(1. A-Rods Walk off Grand slam - Answers everyone who doubts him and hits a huge walk off grand slam.

(2. Barry Bonds #756 - Will never forget when that cheating person was on the front and back cover of the paper. A unforgettable bad event.

(3. A-Rod #500 - Will always be played in my brain when I think of A-Rod along with that GRAND SLAM.

History Wise

(1. Bonds #756

(2. Biggio #3,000

(3. A-Rods #500

(4. Glavines #300

(5. Sosas #600.

Edit : The Mets collapse should be in both categories, to me and history! To me because my jaw was on the floor and history because it is probably the WORST collapse in baseball history!

Bobby Jenks of the White Sox putting 41 consecutive batters down! But it seem like the national media pretty much ignored this. I bet if it was Mariano Rivera they would have made a big deal about a Major League record like this one.

Yesterday, when the whole stadium at Citizens Bank Park saw that the Mets lost, everybody was standing, screaming and waving their rally towels and Brett Myers threw out the last strike to Wily Mo Pena. It was a BEAUTIFUL moment for me and the rest of the nearly 45,000 Phillies fans that were at the park yesterday. :-D The energy was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

a guy walks up to him yes sign it to Bob, Thanks For Ruining Baseball

Bonds is a stupid asshole... record should still stand its a slap in the face to people who try and play not just for the money the ones who actually played the game.....that the problem now a days in all sports on all levels its just about winning/money dont get me wrong they are both great things but cheating should never be consider if you wan to give him a record give him the home run record for being a cheating baby and then you can have a whole separate list of awards for cheating babys
