hi,
I was just wondering can anyone give me any tips on getting into the acting buisness (on TV)
i am with an agency but they are rubbish and all they want is my money!
so i have applied to another,
but i was wondering, any sites that list open auditions in/near yorkshire?
id like to be in a film like mischeif night, or in a programme like hollyoaks or emmerdale, or waterloo road, something along those lines.
I'd really appreciate advice from everyone that can offer it!
or any tips from those that work for an agency or are in the buisness.
thanks !

One of my friends daughters wants to be in acting when she leaves school. She has got a few bit parts via the magazine The Stage, it's worth a try.

Also why rely on an agency, get yourself a c.v together, do a c.d of you acting, write a covering letter and post it to all the television companies you can think of! You have nothing to lose and loads to gain!

I was once told that any company that asks you for money to promote you should be kept at arms length, they should be making their money through getting you work, so shop around on the net, look for reputable companies that don't ask you to stump up the cash!

Very Good Luck to you, I hope it all works out well, remember me when you are famous!

1. Get out of the agency that you are in. (I know you may have to wait until your current contract expires)
2. Then get a decent agent (shop around, ask questions, never pay for representation)
3. It honestly sounds as though you are not ready to be an actor, because of the things you have written. So get some professional training by taking some classes from acting schools.
4. You may want to discover if you have talent in the first place, all you have to do is audition for plays at school or in the community, if you get cast, you may have talent, if you don't get cast, try again several time and them if you still never get cast.........that tells you something.
