FrogButt--can I call you Frog?--I've read a fair amount of both authors' work and have a solid preference for Grafton. Evanovich is amusing, a fun enough read, but pretty lightweight, with characters and situations existing only for the humor potential. Grafton has substantially more depth and is a better plotter as well.

Kinsey Milhone is a great character because she herself is a puzzle you are not sure who she is and she continues to search for the answers to her family. I like her because she comes from a part of the country I relate more easily to and I like the supporting characters. I like Plum's drive and her toughness but I find Milhone easier to relate to.

Sue Grafton.
A favorite it's like her character Kinsey is a alter ego almost.
