No!!! Terrorism is not a funny thing to bring up. Also, it will hurt people who have or have had family or friends fighting in Iraq, or who were killed in the 9/11 attacks.

It's exactly what you should do on Halloween, embrace your deepest fears, because in order to care about something you must also fear the opposite. Both are in conflict within someone. Until you admit that terrorists are a threat, you cannot fight them.

It's not like he said he wanted to dress like a Muslim, which wouldn't be bad either. I mean, people dress as Firemen and Indians. I just can't see anyone being offended other than terrorists. If a Muslim came up to you and said you were a punk, I'd ask him why he sympathizes with the murder of civilians?

Although you might scare some people in whatever public area you visit, and someone might seriously call the fuzz on you. A private party where many people know you: OK, going trick or treating: OK, going to the mall or downtown costume parade: NO.

No, not really. In fact, such a stunt may prove dangerous to you and ruin everyone else's fun for the next few years.

With all the paranoia about terrorists these days, dressing up like one on Halloween may cause a panic and may get you shot or arrested. (And maybe even shipped off to who knows where.) Is a prank like that really worth the loss of your freedom and possibly even your life?

Even if that worst of scenarios doesn't occur, it's possible that some concerned individuals will petition whatever city you live in to ban Halloween festivities for a while. And that would, well, to put it mildly, that wouldn't be good at all! Again, such a prank really isn't worth it.

As for providing a good example for kids, I fail to see how dressing up like a national enemy (ie, a terrorist) would provide kids with a good example. Maybe I'm just short-sighted that way.

Dressing up like a terrorist is VERY different than dressing like a pimp or ho because many people have been deeply hurt and many lives have been lost because of terrorists. I think it's crossing the line and disrespectful. I love a good laugh, but a terrorist costume is just not funny in the least.

no but is anything that people wear during Halloween a good example. people dress up as murders and thieves, bums and the homeless, sluts and pimps... are any of these good examples? what about the monsters? or the ghosts? i personally don't think you should take any of this seriously, they are just kids expressing themselves. dressing up as a terrorist shows the impact this is having on our kids, and ourselves.

personally, no! i think we should encourage kids to follow basic costumes and what is popular as far as TV shows and stuff but I would be pretty discouraged to see a kid or even adult dressed like Bin-Laden or something like that, not very patriotic at all!

Humor is a way of dealing with fear or terrible situations, it helps people cope and to continue with their lives. It may not be the most "tasteful" but I seriously doubt that it will influence kids to be any different.
