1. Turnoff Computer
2. Unplug
3. Open side panel, very straight forward, simply unclip+pull
4. At the top of the computer facing the front there is a box
5. This box is your cd-drive, make sure all cables are connected
6. If not plug them back in and restart your computer as usually
7. If its still not working, giv it a gentle slap, if it still doesnt work contact your manufacturer!
Thanks, Kieran

you do now no longer desire drivers on your CD/DVDchronic, they incorporate Vista. Vista is a approach greater beneficial smart OS than XP. do now no longer pay attention to those that do now no longer understand all of its extensive advancements over XP. Vista is extraordinarily much crash evidence, plenty greater beneficial versatile, plenty greater beneficial stepped forward in safety, and continues to be in its infancy. jointly as XP replaced into this age it replaced genuine into an entire mess, and anybody hated it in a extensive way. people ignore how plenty they hated XP by fact it spent too plenty time stay. furnish Vista a extensive gamble and you're pleasantly taken aback at how sturdy it rather is, rather as right now as you get used to the warm interface. Plus, you could as properly get used to Vista now by fact there is not any going decrease returned. Microsoft has stopped merchandising retail copies of XP, and right now there is not any desktops with XP put in, rather Vista. XP is previous hate, and is retired. service will proceed for XP until '09, and then it is going to truly acquire severe and safety updates, it somewhat is no longer supported from now on. living house living house windows 7 may well be out a jointly as next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days too.

You can try using software like System Mechanic Professional or Norton Utilities - sometimes it helps. Try to unplug devices and plug them back. Try to boot your windows in SAFE MOD. Try running your antivirus software. If nothing works - you'll have to reinstall windows.

open device manager.
start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager
or in vista just type device manager in the search bar.
find the dvd or cd drive
if cd or dvd drive is not present, click the pc with a magnifying glass.
if the cd or dvd drive still not present, either your running safe mode or check your cd or dvd drive again.

It's possible that the drives cables have become lose,. Open your computer up and make sure all cables are properly secure..
It's also possible that the drivers have become corrupt. in which you'll need new drivers. try your drives manufacturers own website.. or goto http://driverguide.com, Download and install more up to date drivers.
beyond that. Please look above and below my own response for further responses.
Hope this helps.

Turn it off.
Unplug everything.
Plug everything back in.
Turn it back on.
If this does not help, giggle it about a bit...
