I had a c-section with my first child, because I wouldn't dialate past a 3,what are the chances I can have a vaginal birth this time??How many of you have had this happen to you??? I know they recommend you have a c-section again, and that is why they schedule the c-section a week before your due date.

I had the same problem! I only dialted to a 4 in 22 hrs with my first...and I didn't have any more luck with my second...I never dialted past a 1 in 17 hrs. I wanted a c-section agian but we were stationed in germany and the germans don't like to do them so I had to try...anyway I recommend you schedule a c-section agian...to me its not worth the risks of a VBAC plus your going through all that pain agian for nothing...and don't worry the second c-section was so much easier I didn't have near the pain. I did alot more moving and stuff the second time around! good luck!

As long as you stay healthy and keep a positive out look, things should work out. V-bacs are becoming a lot more common. I have a friend who had a c-section with her first, and went on to have 4 vaginal births after. Just talk to the doc and tell him of your wishes so he does not assume you want or need another.

you need to find a doctor that is willing to do a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) many doctors won't because they "say" there is an increased risk but i think it's because scheduled births are easier on them, but this isn't about them it's about you.

VBAC's are becoming increasingly popular, as women are realising they don't HAVE to have another caesarean. It is not necessary. Talk to your doctor about having a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean) and let him/her know how you are committed to making this work. Many hospitas also have groups for women who are preparing to have a VBAC so contact them and get educated so you're ready for it!
