The only other time in American History where a non-white person was used in US currency was the buffalo nickel. But he was replaced by Jefferson. The Sacagawea is being replaced by the Presidential $1 coin program. It seems the public doesn’t seem to favor any non-white person on their money. Why is this?

We don't like change in our pockets or purses. Paper money is more convenient, and credit or ATM purchases are even more so. Nice try fool.

That's not true. Remember the Susan B. Anthony dollar that came with a Sacagawea one? Nobody ever wanted to use that one everybody would always want the Sacagawea when those came out. I think the reason people don't use them is the fact that they are worth a dollar. A coin is way easier to lose than a dollar. I'd hate to have a ton of those coins because i'd be losing them all the time. It was cool when it came out but I think having things like dollars in coin form are just inconvenient.

I think the public has more of an issue with $1 coins. The Susan B. Anthony coin was a flop because it was too similar in size to quarter. The Sacajawea $1 coin was another mistake in thinking people wanted to carry around heavy coins that discolored too fast. Even the Presidential coins are more of numismatic gimmick than anything else.

Dollar coins are a pain. The only places I've found them useful are at the post office and Chicago El stations. It has nothing to do with the ethnicity of the person on the coin.

I think the main reason they didn't catch on is that they are/were not useful. Vending machines or payphones never took them, they were a pain to cashiers who didn't have a spot in the change drawer for them, and they were too easily confused (in size) with quarters.

also, Americans don't like change - look at the resistence to getting rid of pennies (which 20 years ago cost 2 cents each to make. today probably a lot more). The Susie B dollar of 1979-1981 didn't catch on, either.

Probably not. The US government seems determined to move to a one dollar coin. However, previous experiences with these coins have shown that the one dollar coin simply does not seem to be popular. Regardless, of who or what is on it. The citizenry of this country simply seem to prefer paper money to coinage.

I would say so

but i saw a piece on the news that said that a poll found that people did not like dollars in coin form

it went on to say they were going more traditional in the hopes that people would take to the dollar coin

but really i don't think that is all there is to it

No, as a results of fact the single you marry isn't your enemy. i do no longer think of that white persons are an enemy to my race as a results of fact the single's who're I usually do no longer draw close with me or consult with me. beneficial there are white people who hate me as a results of colour of my epidermis yet I doubt they're waiting in line to marry or date me. some white human beings have performed undesirable issues to human beings of distinctive races and nevertheless do yet there are reliable white people who desire no longer something yet love and understand for anybody.

Susan B. Anthony was white, and her dollar was unpopular.
