It's another way for liberals to make money without working for it.

I think it's stupid. Any $5000 should go to a child's education NOW, not when they are 18, and haven't passed all of their classes, or have dropped out of school, already. To a child they will be excited about that kind of money, but since they can't see it, they will not stay encouraged to continue doing well in their studies for so many years. Another reason is where the blank does she think this $5000 is going to come from? Each taxpaying parent themselves doesn't have $5000 per child they have, and other taxpayer's are already overtaxed to the extreme! The plan won't work. All Hillary is doing is trying to look good for the upcoming election.
Also by the time kids are 18, for most, because of her desire to raise taxes on Americans even more, that $5000 still will not be enough to send them to college, her taxes having broken down the worth of the American dollar.

Too many problems with this idea to count. Regardless of who's idea it was originally Hilary agreed with it and made her agreement public. Knowing that she would look like it was her idea if people thought it was a good and if they thought it was bad idea should could then say she was just repeating what someone else proposed.

How about this for an idea - teach parents to be responsible with their children's futures by starting savings and college plans when their children are born - that's how we are doing it. If you start it a birth you can get away with putting a lot less in each month then waiting until they are college age to come up with the money. If parents are fiscally responsible for the future of the children they choose to bring into this world then they can teach their children the same responsibility.

Where will the money come from ?

Not to mention the reality of the situation... How many more kids will be born to mothers who just want to cash the bond?

''to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home."

How will a meager $5,000 help in education or a home purchase 20 yrs down the road. She wants to gain votes, nothing more.Votes gained by promising handouts and getting people dependent upon the government.

No, i don't sense that Hillary being interior the White homestead would be basically like having bill there. as a results of fact on an identical time as Hillary is busy there, bill would be unfastened to travle around the globe getting all sorts of wierd. particular, Hillary gets the nomination as a results of fact she has fooled countless human beings. particular, Hillary being in place of work and attempting to bypass all sorts of united states of america-crippling costs will reason human beings to realize that we prefer an opposing Congress to offer up her from bringing this united states of america down.

talk about pandering for votes, about 4 million kids are born every year, thats into the 10's of billions each year, for a $5000 bond, how much is that really worth in another 20 years of inflation? next to nothing

This is an attempt by a socialist (Hillary) to redistribute income i.e. my tax dollars. Bad idea. Nothing is free, this money would likely come from another tax levied on the middle class.

I think she is turning into Robin Hood. Stealing from the rich to give to the poor. Where the heck is THAT money going to come from? Is is retro-active? Will it be given to children of illegals? Is it negotiable if I have a lawyer? What if someone has twins and one does not survive? Will the government dip into it like Social Security?....... oh the questions could be endless!

Let's correct this:

Hillary is pledging to make taxpayers fork over $5,000 each to give to some baby (perhaps not their own) in exchange for Hillary getting the "poor vote" and taking all credit for this (forced) charitable act on the part of you and me.

When I was in Canada a few year ago I heard that they give every native american indian 25k when they turn 18. My friend said it was supposed to be to help them get started in life with college and expenses. The money is mismanaged from there.

I answered a question like this the other day! I am very unsure of it...it sounds all wonderful and what not, but it might give people the wrong idea about having a kid (free money) plus where will all the money come from? Should we really be giving people free money to have a child? People complain about our population the way it is......
