have used anabolic steriods? He admitted to have used "the Cream and the Clear" from BALCO, which are without question designer steroids? Today, most sports broadcasters continue to say it has not been proven. How much more proof does one need?

C'mon jack, Because BB didn't admit it doesn't mean he's didn't do it. I'm not saying this is a legal issue of innocence versus guilt. If you shot someone and they died ten days later and you didn't know it are you innocent too? Be real.

Sorry for the old topic but it surfaced again this weekend when ESPN had a board of athletes, writers and analysts discussing Vick and the Bonds issue resurfaced during talks.

I didn't ant this to turn to a legal or MLB issue. It's an issue of YES or NO. By admitting that he unkowingly used the Cream and the Clear, doesn't that in and of itself make him a steroid user?

Bonds testified before a grand jury that he did apply a "cream" but did not know it was a steroid. Therefore, his statement is that he never knowingly took a steroid. Keep in mind that this occurred in 1999 which was three years before any drug testing plan was implemented in MLB and he has never tested positive for any of the (53) banned drugs identified within the program. Even if he would have said that he absolutely used a steroid he is home free, as far as MLB is concerned, because it was not banned in MLB until years later. Also, the grand jury has convened three different times and has never issued an indictment and probably never will so he is probably home free from any legal action as well.

Because people don't want the truth even when it is staring them in the face. HGH is not tested for! Any athlete can roid' up til the cows come home and not get caught. To say he has never failed a drug test is a sign of either ignorance or stupidity. He has obviously juiced. His head is bigger than a beachball and his shoe size has increased 3 sizes. This is not normal. If he's innocent, why does his buddy who's in jail not talk? Why does he not sue the authors of Game of Shadows for libel and defamation of character? There's to much smoke to not have any fire.

Because people are stupid. The question isnt "did he take steroids?" the question is "did he KNOWINGLY take steroids and then lie to a Grand Jury about it?". For some reason people say there's no proof (much like the idiot a few spots above my answer did) but the fact is that he did take them, he admitted it himself.

Any player who uses drugs is a loser. Point Blank Period.

And these cheaters should be thrown out of the sport and their records should be tainted NOT erased cuz them that means that the teams' win wouldn't count.

Just an * is all you need.

He also said he did not know what those substances were. He thought the clear was flax seed oil. OK, I think he took steroids too, but there is no hard evidence that he did, therefore, he's innocent.

There is a lot of evidence he was a great athlete and a real jerk, but those don't translate into steroid use.

Even the hardcore Barry apologist knows he is guilty. I recognize his achievements as home run king but I know how he did it and to me Hank will always be the real home run king because he did it right.
