Most Razr's will NOT work in Japan, The only Razr I know that can operate in Japan is the V3xx made for sale in the European market. The V3xx made for sale in North America will not work.
Japans technology is different then the rest of the world although they do have a 3g network (WCDMA 2100) European Razr V3xx have WCDMA2100 so they can roam in Japan, the American V3xx does not have WCDMA2100 so it will not work

If your RAZR is the V3, no it doesn't. The Razr V3x which is a 3G phone does. You need a 3G phone in Japan, eg Nokia E65, Nokia E61/61i and the newer Motorola phones, V3xx, VMax. The same for Korea.

I know T-Mobile does internatinal plans but i'm not sure if they have the razr. hope this helps

check with the carrier so you are not disappointed and slammed with outrageous charges. Verizon rents phones for overseas use. I am sure the others have similar programs
