THEY SELL THEM OUT HERE IN NEW JERSEY RIGHT ABOUT NOW ! WHEN I WAS A GIRL SCOUT WE SOLD THEM IN APRIL.I GUESS IT IS UP TO THE SCOUT LEADERS.

I was a girl scout leader when my daughter was little, and I know they have different dates they sell cookies in different parts of each state so everyone wasn't selling them at the same time.....In Northern Indiana it was this time of the year. My favorite was the peanut butter sandwich cookie!

The GS Council sets the sale date, not the troop leaders. The majority of councils still do it in the winter/early spring, but some do it right off the bat in the fall (I kind of wish we did - we wouldn't hear "oh, but I just started a diet" and could push the "great gift idea" angle. Plus, no delivering cookies in a blizzard!).
My personal favorite are Caramel Delites/Samoas, followed very closely by either the Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs and Peanut Butter Sandwiches/Do-Si-Dos.
(The first is the name ABC Bakers uses for the cookie, the second is Little Brownie Bakers' names - they're almost the same recipes, though some cookie affectionados insist they can taste the difference.)

It used to be the mints, but lately it is the peanutbutter patties.
I have been a Girl Scout volunteer for many years.
It is a very good cause .

Samoas. Did you know that Breyer's ice cream has Girl Scout ice cream? Can you imagine the thin mint or that peanut butter one....Yum

The problem is that I like ALL of them! but if I have to choose one, it's probably the chocolate mint cookie.
