Although I'm sure this won't be a popular response, I don't understand why you would do that -- if you loved that person, why does it matter what gender they USED to be? Are you able to just turn love on and off like a faucet? You'd be the first, if that were the case.
If my wife told me that, I would ask "where was I when that was being done, and how were you able to hide it so well?"

Why would you want to hurt him or her? Why would it bother you so much to find out that your 'mate' was born with a congenital condition, and had it treated?
It doesn't really affect you, and it's none of your business.
I'm transsexual; I still have the scars from when someone with exactly your attitude tried to kill me (and very nearly succeeded).
