The urine sample you gave at the hospital for back pain was not likely tested for pregnancy unless the doctor ordered that test done. They were more likely testing for a urinary tract infection as back pain can be a fairly commom symptom with that. The fact is, anytime you have sex there is a risk of pregnancy, even when you use birth control. I have 4 kids. My youngest was conceived unexpectedly when I had been taking birth control pills for 11 years. Our other children were 18, 15, and 12 when she was born. I had no pregnancy symptoms and didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 17 weeks along. So, no, you don't always know when you are pregnant. Women who have irregular periods can not predict when ovulation will occur. An egg will remain fertile about 24 hours after ovulation and sperm can live inside a woman for several days so conception does not necessarily occur on the day you had sex. Technically, you could have had sex on Aug. 30 yet the time of fertilization could have happened as late as Sept. 7. So, even if they did test your urine for pregnancy it could have just been too early for a detectable level of hCG to be present to give a positive result. I suggest you get a home pregnancy test and see what that has to say. It is possible to be pregnant even without any breast symptoms. I never had swollen or tender breasts during any of my pregnancies. Nothing but abstinance is 100% guaranteed to prevent pregnancy, but using some form of birth control will reduce your risk of pregnancy. Bottom line is this: Whenever you have sex there is a risk you could get pregnant.

If he released his fluids in you, than you can be pregnant. But, you might not be. Did they do blood tests on you at the hospital? These are the most reliable. You can test now since it has been over a month since having sex. If you don't want to get a test from the store, go to the clinic for a blood test. Good luck with whatever happens.
As for symptoms, sometimes they do not show up for a little while. I did not start getting sick until around 6 weeks pregnant.

Well in the first place you say you can't get pregnant at 17. I'm sorry to inform you that chances are you could have got pregnant for years now. If your period is not regular, that means your chances of getting pregnant are greater because you never know when you will ovulate. You should have been taking precautions or not having sex if you didn't want to get pregnant. Anyone can get pregnant. You haven't seen 12 year olds with babies? The best thing to do is go to the dollar store, you can get a pregnancy test for a dollar. I would say that your signs aren't enough to signal pregnancy, however you had unprotected sex so it's likely you may be.

They would only know if you were pregnant if they did a pregnancy test (and urine samples aren't as reliable early on, they do them after you've missed at least the first day or so of your period). You don't have to have regular periods to get pregnant, and you can get pregnant much younger than 17. You need to take a pregnancy test because it sounds like you could be pregnant.

yes you can be pregnant. i can't believe at your age you are stupid enough to be having unprotected sex, not only no condoms but no birth control either, and know so little about the subject. it's not like you have never heard the warnings.

any way - the Dr / nurses at the hospital probably didn't do a pregnancy test on you unless you mentioned to them about having frequently unprotected sex as well as not being on birth control. the test they would have done would have been to see if you had a UTI urinary tract infection.

as for the veins this could be hormonal given your age, but you should make an appointment to see your GP and get tested for STDs STIs and pregnancy

good luck

Well, you did have unprotected sex, so yes you could get pregnant. The hospital would only do a pregnancy test if you requested one. Seeing veins is not a surefire way to diagnose pregnancy. You need to take a test for that.

Take a pregnancy test. Get atleast two. If you take it now it should be very accurate. If you're 17 and don't want to get pregnant, maybe you shouldn't have let him "released his fluids" in you.

"released his fluids" gee, sounds so romantic. If you don't want to get pregnant than either you should 1. not have sex or 2. use protection. Chances are pretty high that you are preggres, congrats.

Sounds you are indeed pregnant. It doesn't matter if you are regular or irregular to conceive. Is just when the time happen it happens.
