i have a few questions and i'd be very happy if someone could answer. thanx
- what are the ways to break the ice if you have no prior experience, where and how to start
- can you make a living out of it, suppose you write for several magazines, can this be your full time job
- if you're an english major, what are the topics you can write on - just fiction/philosophy/world affairs? is this in high demand so you can earn enough money to support yourself. thanx a lot

The professional magazine "Writers Digest" is in the business of explaining all of that simply. They have hundreds of related books available, but the magazine month after month answers the same questions. Pick up a few copies at the library, or search for them online. And Yes, you can make a lot of money by recycling each article after editing it for the specific audience of the magazine you send it to.

Write about some thing you’re interested in and passionate about. Take pictures too. Write an article or two and try to publish them. call or write the magazines you interested in getting published in and ask how they do things. Maybe start with smaller publications

You can make a living at it if your good and you milk some niche markets.

You can write about anything if you do your research.

maybe you should start the conversations, talk about anything you're interested in...
i think when your writing are good, you can make a living with that.
and you can write anything you like, not just fiction/philosophy/world affairs. as long as you know enough knowledge of what you're writing, it's ok.
