Probably the same amount as his approval rating, the die hards. I think that number is about 30-some-odd percent. Not a majority, I assure you.

I think Bush appeals to a good majority in this country because he's a "good 'ol boy." He doesn't use fancy words, and he seems like the kind of guy who would crack back a few Schlitz's with you.
The same people who like Bush disliked Clinton for being "soft" on terrorism (though he did respond with force to every terrorist act during his administration). They like Bush because he started a full-scale preemptive war, apparently just to prove you can't mess with the U.S. Of course, this thinking is very backward but it appeals to a certain segment of society.
He hocks loogies on the white house lawn, and doesn't know his left from his right. Unfortunately, there's a pretty good segment of the U.S. that likes his behaviors, because it humanizes him and makes him seem like he's on their level.
Of course, to anyone with half a brain this makes him seem like an idiot.

Very few (or at least that's my hope).
He is really close to the story of Forrest Gump, a retard that somehow ends up on top of everything he does (even the cheerleading pyramid).

about 20 percent, maybe slightly more.
A vocal 20 percent minority can present the illusion of majority. That seems to be the case here.
