A friend has supposedly fathered a child, tried to use protection but the condom split and the girl said she would use emergency pill but didn't. Now pregnant and claimingthey should be together, he's the dad etc. Thing is this girl was with another man for three weeks the week before the 'accident' happened. My friend has said he wants a test when the child is born, the girl has now become physically and verbally abusive to my friend. They are not together and hopefully never will be!!!!

Momma's little baby..Papa's little maybe! He absolutely is entitled to a paternity test. She is being a bit** and irrational as well as unfair to him and the baby. Pray it's not his. To be tied to someone like that would be awful!

Well, if it might be his child, he may want to get a paternity test. If he's going to pay child support, then he should definitely get one done. There is a much higher percentage than you think of men paying for kids that are not theirs.

He doesn't have to get a test, he can just acknowledge paternity. However, since there's doubt, I would get the test. Heck, even if there WASN'T doubt, I would get the test - just in case.

It is especially disconcerting that she is upset about the idea.

He doesn't need her permission to do it anyway. He can either take the baby to a testing facility if he has access to it alone, or he can get a court order.

nope, any man deserves the right to ask for a paternity test regardless of situation. You can get a prenatal paternity test it costs 450 dollars. You don't have to wait till the baby is born. They do it using the cells of a cvs test (done at 10 weeks) or amnio test done at 16 weeks. You send it in and the results come back. This will save your friend a lot of time wasting emotions and energy if its not his. Hopefully the girl will agree to it.

My hunch is the the guy didn't use protection. Realized this girl was a manipulative ********* and is now embarassed to tell you the truth.

I would say his chance of being the father of the baby is about 80%.

The quicker he can get a paternity test the quicker he will know if the child is his and he can finally rid her. If it is his then he will have the right to see his child and her in a "parenting" kind of way.

If he is rather "slow" about getting the paternity or reluctant then you know that he knows the child is his.

If worse comes to worse, he could always go on Montrose Williams or Judge Judy to or some other talk show get a paternity test done.

He has every right to ask for a test. But as his friend... I hope you are pointing out to him that he does have a responsibility in all of this and it was due to his irresponsible behavior that he has himself in this mess to begin with.

I know, he used a condom... but honestly.. who ever died from not having sex. No birth control is 100%... he should have made a wiser choice for himself instead of treating sex like it's a game and not thinking of all the possible consequences.

BTW... I hope he's been tested for STD's if that condom broke.

NO, it is not at all unreasonable. In fact, he would be a fool if he didn't. He will have to get a lawyer and pay for the test - it is not cheap, but worth every penny.

No it is not unreasonable....and it is his right to ask for one...you have heard "Momma's baby...daddy's maybe"...if he isn't convinced that this child is his....then he needs to find out. I bet your friend doesn't even know who the father is...sounds like she did all she could to get pregnant and trap this guy.
