So what do you think? Do two wrongs make right? Its funny because if you look at society, that's almost how we operate. We just just keep relacing wrongs. Then were just left we a mess. Then we wonder how we got here. . .

What do you think?

I think that two wrongs can never be right. From my point of view it's called "Bad" to "Worse". Sometimes an individual such as ourselves try to rationalize the "wrong" and try to make it seem "right". We try to "Bend the rules" to better suit our comfort.

The first response to this question is kinda disturbing. You said that humans always want to buck a system that is set up to help us? How on earth did you come to that conclusion? So, your saying that haveing a Monarchy so attatched to the church that it creates a totalitarian regime is in our best interest? Because that was the "helpful" system that good people like Ben Franklin and Tom Jefferson bucked to establish the United States government. And even now, today, we are taking more steps to demolish that foundation upon which people thrived for hundreds of years.IE the abolition of the second amendment, which in turn abolishes the part (not sure which) that states that we have a right to overthrow our government if they become unjust. Also, recently in the news a Florida St. student, a young man, was forced to leave a gathering where John Kerry was, because he asked him if Kerry had been in the SKULLS secret society at Yale university along with comember G. Bush Jr. He wasn't just asked to leave, but tasered! You can look at the video, it's sickening. That is the kind of freedom of speach our government practices today. But if it's in our best interest.. :(
Now for the initial question, actually there are a # of people and it seems this mindset is growing in pop culture, that beieve in revenge. That is a system where two wrongs supposedly make a right. Not sure if that's what you were talking about but no, I don't believe in revenge. If somebody was cruel enough to hurt you then that reflects badly on them, and if the offense was severe enough then you should just throw them out of your life because you'd be better off without them.

Society definitely isn't functioning at it's best. The problem is, humans naturally want to buck any sort of system set up for their own personal gain. I assume its some sort of survival method hardwired into the brain. Regardless, we're screwed.

But, I do think two wrongs can make a right. Think of vigilantes from comic books. Their situations aren't impossible to come by all of the time (for instance, the Punisher) and show where two wrongs can definitely make a right.

I suppose it would depend upon your interpretation of wrongs. For example, some people believe that we should not kill ,regardless of the situation.Does this mean we should not have a military presence, police or others who are required to be armed and under certain guidelines perhaps kill people (sometimes innocent people)? We have a justice system that prosecutes people for killing and sends them to prisons for life or a death sentence? Is this justice or revenge? Should the sentence for killing someone while drunk driving be less than killing someone with a gun? Should the age of the victim or their past be a consideration when sentencing ? Life is complicated, seldom just black and white. Do two wrongs make a right.....I don't know .As a society we need laws and value systems to at least set parameters to base ourdecisions on.

No, but 4 rights make a left !!

Seriously ... Wrong is wrong other wise they would call it right instead. Two wrongs is just double the wrong and is not right. No matter how anyone wants to try to justify the wrongs they commit they are still wrong and down deep I think people know it.

Society today has become a living breathing entity in its own right.

We try to help people by applying "bandaids" or "patches" as in giving "welfare" to replace poverty or in making so many security "laws" to replace fear of terrorism.

These are just 2 examples of how we use wrong methods to improve "wrongs" in our society. There are many others.

Yes I agree with you we do operate that way and I doubt that we, in the west will ever change.

Two wrongs don't make a right but three wrongs and you can do a lot better. I hope your'e talking petty, vindictive payback. If not then forget I said this.
