I bought a Hermann Tortoise and proper table, lighting, vitamins etc. Does anyone have any top tips for successful tortoise keeping? Any thing that you've found useful? Thanks!

If you look on ebay you will find seeds that you can grow and feed your tortoise with. That way you will know what plants are safe to feed.
You won't need to hibernate your tortoise if kept under a heat lamp. I've had mine for 12 yrs and never hibernate her.
Put a large stone in with your tortoise too as it will use it to keep it's beak down.(wash it thoroughly if you get it out of your garden)

Don't tortoises hibernate at this time of the year. I think you put them in a box with straw. Go down to the library and find a book about tortoises. They love dandelions in the spring.

what you feed them does be counted on what type your getting. secure guess is grasses and vegetables for many species, vegetables carefully and fruit as a manage hardly ever. it is going to % a basking spot that's heat and a place interior the tank that's 10 levels cooler. You shouldnt might desire to bathe a tort, yet many delight in a sturdy soak. So the two place a shallow pan with a inch or so of water in it interior the enclosure a million-2times each and every week Or fill your bathtub bathtub and permit or no longer that is in there. Torts dont make cuddly play pets, they simply dont. yet they're going to study who feeds them, and who lives interior the abode. they are curious and could roam around counting on in the event that they are allowed or no longer.

Read all you can about your tortoise....most tortoises I have ever encountered are now dead possibly because people did not know enough about them.
