Sorry, but you are not supposed to sing from the show you're auditioning for unless specifically asked to do so. Unless you can REALLY NAIL IT do not sing Nancy's song. They may have a very specific idea of how it should be done and if you don't do it precisely that way then you don't have a shot. You are supposed to sing a song that is in your vocal range that is like Nancy in character and shows off your voice. Sometimes something from the same composer works nicely, but sometimes not. Lionel Bart wrote 2 other shows, but they weren't very well known so I would suggest:

Send in the Clowns - A Little Night Music
Before The Parade Passes By - Hello, Dolly
Astonishing - Little Women
With One Look - Sunset Boulevard
As if we Never Said Goodbye - Sunset Boulevard

Anything in your range that you can do really well and shows strength of character like Nancy.

break a leg!

You sound perfect for Nancy. The character of Nancy calls for charm and appeal - but not to the high-class. She's a beacon of hope for the guttersnipes and thieves of London. A good audition for Nancy (aside from a great vocal performance) would need to be very down to earth and believable. Don't be afraid to put on a thick accent and read the lines with plenty of gusto. Nancy is best remembered as a strong-willed woman who likes to keep people happy, and throws all of herself into any activity. Go for it!

Now, I have a bulletin for you, dearie. All good casting is type casting. If it weren't, it would not be believeable. So, if for some reason you are not the Nancy type, not much chance. What you need to be is a very sensuous and likeable character. So be friendly and charming and sexy; smile and flirt and be full of energy! She also "mothers" the young boys like Olivier. When you audition, sing, "As Long as He Needs Me" and really deeply mean it, wail it, she can't help loving the man who will kill her, because she feels needed, just as so many abused women do in society today. Best wishes, doc

never sing a music from a similar teach, yet each and every so often that could be a sturdy concept to sing one from a similar composer. the only different musical i ought to discover by way of Lionel Bart is "l. a. Strada"
