Most plants, shrubs, trees here in the desert southwest puts out a flattened pod of some sort.
Any picture of what you are trying to identify or are you looking for a suggestion of a plant. If your looking for a suggestion, what zone or area?

The best you are going to get here are guesses. Can you provide a picture? What zone are you? What color are the flowers? Better description of flowers? Is it a vine, bush, hedge? More description please.
