Hi I'm a printer with over 30 years in the field and I've answered similar questions before and they have worked out well for the asker. 2 things I can recommened. If there is a finish on this wood the best thing to do is get some hand cleaner call Orange Stuff or any citrice based cleaner. I recommand the Orange Stuff because it does work well. If it unfinished mineral spirits will work. In both cases blot constantly with paper towel. What I have told people in the past is to visit your local printer and ask them to sell you a small amount of their cleaning product. They will probably just give it to you. Ask for blanket wash and deglazer and maybe a little hand cleaner. This will do it for you. Remember what ever you do decide to use Blot Blot Blot. Good luck

if it's only the surface, you can sand it off, or varnish it to a dark oak if possible.
