I stay in India (Pune). My skin color is wheatish. I like swimming but when I swim in my outdoor swimming pool the chlorinated water/ Sun tans my skin. I swim daily during 8:30 to 9:30 in the morning. Does Sun tan the wet skin more? How can I reduce/avoid/rectify the tan caused by the same.

Chlorinated water isn't tanning your skin. UVA and UVB rays--sunlight--are. (Chlorine is actually a bleach, although the concentration in a swimming pool won't bleach clothing, hair, or skin.)

To avoid skin color changes while swimming, apply a high-SPF sunscreen that's water-resistant, and re-apply after being in the water (because none of them is truly waterproof).

Chlorine does not tan skin. Is the pool outside? If it is, then you are getting a tan from the son. To avoid the sun tan, you have to apply a sun blocker about 1/2 hour before going outside. It has to be reapplied often. Also, when you go in the water, the sun blocker will wash off, so reapply when you get out. There may be a water proof version of a blocker, but they still need to be reapplied often.
