Have you ever met a group of people and one or two of them dominated the conversation?

Have you ever met a group of people and one or two people dominated the conversation and you couldn't get anything in? I'm on exchange in Europe and I met the other American students. Some are ok, some show some potential for hanging out, and there's a few I don't like so much. After a few days of being here, I decided not to hang out with them much anymore and break away. Plus, I don't click with any of them. A couple of the dominated the conversations and talked all the time. I decided not to try to fight my way into it because I don't think it's worth it. So, has something similar happened to any of you?

Yes, I have, and I have 2 sisters that are the worst for trying to dominate all conversations.
