questions/answers but dont actually answer the question themselves?i dont know if anyone else feels this way,but i find it abit annoying that they feel the need to welll what i just said but then cant take the time to actually answer,And also...if people do answer then they say 'i agree with tommyboi8721' and thats it?why can't they just give their own answer, why give pointless answers that dont mean a thing?sorry for the small rant,i am just always curious.

I do not thumbs down anyone. People who do that are just jerks that have time to waste.
As for stars, if I star a question it is because I answered it or know my contacts will want to answer it. The more stars a question gets, the better chance it has of more people answering it. Some questions I can't answer, but know a contact who can and I star it. If you have any questions, just ask.
EDIT AGAIN Thought you meant somebody who thumbs down every answer you get. That happens a lot.

EDIT Thank you for thumbs down on an opinion question. I answered honestly and evidently, some don't want to hear others point of view. Hmmm!

If I see a question with 5 correct answers, and 1 wrong answer, I may thumb up the right answers, and thumb down the wrong answer, but feel no need to add anything else.

I sometimes read the McCann questions/answers. If the question is just another spiteful attack - and someone has already answered, saying 'This is just another spiteful attack'
I would give that answer a thumbs up, but I would feel no need to add credibility to a moronic 'question', by answering it

{edit} - to free to be me
Some answers need facts, rather than opinions. If someone has answered a factual question wrongly, - for example they have said that Pi (π) = 3.5, that is wrong, it deserves a thumbs down - it is not being a jerk, it does not mean that someone has time to waste... it is just a quick way to register that an answer is wrong

I sometimes star a Q if I think it`s good although I don`t necessarily answer it, as for the thumbs down that`s either trolls, people who disagree with an answer, or a factual or opinionated wrong answer for the Q. I think people who answer that agree with someone else should also add a bit of their own to go with it.
