Like if they had a really great time but clam up & say "yeah it was alright" with no details leaving you wondering if the whole thing is just like passing time reading the sports pages of ared top.

I know some of us are not built this way to express every emotion but come on....... a little bit of feeling there?

Yes but you should stop taking it personally, the problem probably lies with the person.

Maybe they are not used to people taking an interest in how they feel therefore do not really know how to show their emotions.

I think it's simply a form of shyness most of the time. It's like when someone gives me gifts. I always feel really embarrassed about it and afterwards I think - i didn't seem grateful enough- even though I loved the gift I was too busy feeling embarrassed and not enjoying the attention.

Chances are the person you are referring to had a great time.

Some people don't just "give" those emotions up easily. They take a little more time and patience than the rest. Do you ever get tired of hearing people talk and talk and talk? Ever met a Gemini? There are those of us who appreciate the quiet ones in this life and get tired of hearing entire novels when asked how they are feeling.

necks aching.Ye people do bottle there motions up but if
you are as old as me you can usually spot when some one
is not right and the only thing is to be there for them.

Maybe they don't know how they feel. Maybe they need more time to make that decision. Yes, I do not read minds--and that is probably a good thing--but I also like for people to give you a little emotion as to their feelings.

On the whole, I have to agree with you ~ although, there are those who lack the vocabulary to articulate their experiences and respond monosyllabic.

On the other hand, there are those who want to (try to) hold what amounts to an autopsy and mount an Inquest on each experience.

Sometimes, the balance in these things can be really problematic.

It worries those of us who have difficulty expressing emotions that it bothers other people.
Believe me, if we could do someting about it we would but it's like asking a pig to fly. Sorry, but it's how we are. Perhaps you feel better now that you know that we are bothered about it too?
