or is that wrong? i want to clean the carpets and want to buy a hometek steam mop as my mum swears by it, but i wondered can i put carpet shampoo in the water?

or do i need to buy a rugdoctor thing?

please advice thanx

That's why it is called a steam cleaner as it only uses steam and yes if you want to use shampoo get a carpet shampooer

Don't clog up your steamer! Plus how would you get the moisture back out? Rent the Rugdoctor thing and consider buying a carpet shampoo machine if you are going to do this often.

I think you can only use water in the steam cleaner, it uses really high temps so is meant to be highly effective, i would certainly try it without.If you have accesss to the manufacturers instructions check those. You can rent the rug dr rather than purchasing, if that dosent work

If the seat cushion covers are removable ? Then I would machine these on cold and air dry If not don't allow too much water on them But yes its fine to use this to clean your couch Make sure you don't saturate and vacuum as much out as you can
