1.
Volume of rectangular plate = Volume of circular rod
l x b x h = pi x r x r x L ----------L = length of rod
8 x 11 x 2 = 22/7 x 4 x 4 x L
L = [(8 x 11 x 2) x 7] / (22 x 4 x 4)
= 1232/352
= 3.5 inches.
2.
No of zeroes at the end of product
1 × 2 × 3 × ... × 100
Count the number of 5 and 0 in the series.
100/5 quotient = 20
20/5 quotient = 4
Total No. of zeroes = 20 + 4 = 24
Divide the quotient by 5 till you get quotient less than 5
Another example
series is 1 × 2 × 3 × ... × 80
80/5 = 16
16/5 = 3
Total No. of zeroes = 16 + 3 = 19
For 1 × 2 × 3 × ... × 10
10/5 = 2
Total No. of zeroes = 2

1. Volume of rectangular plate = Volume of circular rod
l xb xh = pi x r x r x L L = h = length of rod
8 x 11 x 2 = 22/7 x 4 x 4 x L
[(8 x 11 x 2) x 7] / (22 x 4 x 4) = L
1232/352 = L
3.5 = L

2. The series 10, 20, 30 .............90 has 9 zeroes
100 has 2 zeroes
The products 2 x 5, 12 x 5, 13 x 5 .....93 x 5 has10 zeroes
The products 5 x 2, 15 x 2, 25 x 2....... 95 x 2 has 10 zeroes
Total zeroes = 9 + 2 + 10 + 10 = 31

Volume of plate = 8 x 11 x 2 = 176 in^3

Volume of rod = 176 in^3

V(rod) = pi * r^2 * h

d = 8 in ~> r = 4 in

176 = pi * 16 * h
h = 11 / pi = 3.5 in

2. Product means multiplication.
1 x 100 = 100. Therefore, there are two zeros
