Hi,
I have no idea, in fact I have never thought of it that way at all, maybe its a garden thing. We in the UK should start acting a bit more like our European neighbours and realise that we are not an empire anymore but just an Island outside of Europe. In most of europe people live in appartments and think nothing of it. Maybe this is a north/south thing coz I live in the south where we have loads of flats and have never heard of this house snobbery. Maybe its an ex council house thing where you asipred to a house rather than a flat. One of my favorite flats I have ever lived in was on the 13th floor of a tower block in Southampton, I loved it there, now I have a house and I never seem to stop working on the thing. Think I might sell it and buy a flat, in retrospect I think I prefer them.

my very own abode outdoors city with a backyard and chickens.(the final council flat i lived in became an entire sell off and in between the worst housing aspects in my city yet i had to take it or i could of been homeless.) Jam you're out of order for that fact.i worked stressful as a nurse as quickly as I lived in that flat and converted it in to a place nicely worth residing in. no longer everyone on benifits are scroungers the two!

I have lived in some nice flats in Paris, Toronto, London.

Its not second class.. One thing I miss about not living in a flat - you don't have to run upstairs to the loo, or mower the grass!

That's just snobbery. I've had the same thing because I live in a council house and don't own it. Who cares?
