The question is only for those who technically believe in pyramid shapes' capability in harnessing cosmic energy. A certain Filipino had already claimed that a triangle base is better that square base because it will not require alignment with the earth's direction.

The part that has been cut off is also a square-based pyramid. Imagine the whole pyramid. Subtract the volume of the sliced off part from the volume of the whole pyramid. I'd have to take a minute to fully convince myself of this, but I'm pretty sure that the side length of a slice like that is going to be proportional to distance from the top of the pyramid. That is, the fact that the side length is 2 where the slice occurs, and the side length is 4 at the bottom, means that the slice is 1/2 of the way from the top to the bottom. So the whole pyramid is 12 units high, and the little pyramid that has been sliced off is 6 units high.
