... I asked here on Y/A if, when a case becomes too high profile, governments intervene and 'close' the case down.
Look at the link below and tell if you believe, as I do, that the reasons that Portuguese Judge, out of the blue, by refusing to order the McCanns to return to Portugal, did in effect remove all chances of the McCanns facing trial. Was I prophetic when I asked that question ? See this link (it is only a short article)
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=482337&in_page_id=1770
(BTW, those who say that they are fed up of the McCann case need not answer. ) Thanks.

I dont think they will ever go back to Portugal, no matter what. I am wondering if Clarence Mitchell has an MI5/MI6 link.

How would the UK be perceived if 2 doctors were thought to be involved in this disappearance and also the friends they were with also doctors.

Will a deal be done with Portugal at very high levels?

It's a possibility, but I don't think the Portuguese have given up yet, they are too pissed off after all the abuse they've received from the British media et all. The only way I can see this ending is with some sort of agreement between the PJ, the British government and Team McCann.

Police officers the world over will continue to seek progress in this case regardless of the political hoo ha

gordon brown ( no capitals for the unelected ) will win some votes if he is seen to be expending energy in any way shape or form - and i AM bored with how the media is trying to keep up sales with more expanded "hot news" - but i trust the coppers will never sleep on this one not least because of all the flak they have received.

This case will not be closed down - even if it is, if you know what i mean.

Maybe the reason the judge refused to order them back to portugal is because there is no case to answer,The police have no idea what happened to madeleine and even though they tried to frame the parents, they didnt realise the case would become so high profile,so have had to back off.

I think the Portugese have received so much criticism they will want to keep going and make sure their evidence is 100% fool proof before we hear anything more about their inquiries
